Mobile versus Stationary Food Businesses

Depending on your goals for your food truck business, you will be required to apply for different permits based.

🚚 Mobile food trucks only stay in one location for an hour or less. They are able to cater private events and set up at organized community events, such as:

  • Flea markets
  • Farmer's markets
  • Fairs

🏠 Stationary food trucks stay in one location a majority of the time (1+ hours). They require extra permits depending on location and if they want to participate in community events.

Stationary food trucks require a use permit, issued through Permit Sonoma. They also require a signed restroom agreement with the property/ies they are parked at.
