The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) creates and administers examinations that must be passed to receive a license, which verifies that a license-holding contractor can perform their work following industry standards and legal requirements.
Once your application has been approved and referred for testing, the Notice to Schedule for Examination will be mailed to you with detailed information regarding the self-scheduling of your exam through PSI Exams. Therefore, you are responsible for scheduling an appointment to take the examination, which can be done either online or by telephone at (877) 392-6422.
All exams are offered in English and test translation is available upon request. Please make sure to mark the need for translation on your "Application for Original Contractors License" initial submission to avoid any delays in processing.
