January 2022 Meeting Re-cap
For those of you who were able to join us on last month’s call, thank you so much for being a part of the conversation. For those of you who were unable to attend, I hope that you find the re-cap below useful and that we’ll see you at our next meeting, which will be held virtually in April.
One thing that we can certainly all agree on is the resiliency of Manufacturing businesses in Sonoma County throughout the pandemic and everything else that our region has endured in recent years. During this time, our workforce challenges have been exacerbated, expansion space has been incredibly difficult to come by and despite the convenience of virtual communication; it is just not the same as connecting over a cup of coffee or lunch.
Our team is working with the Press Democrat to help find local placement for the employees impacted by the closure of their Rohnert Park printing location. Please contact our Business Services Program Manager, Patricia Andrews, if you would like to share any of your open positions or if you are interested in working with the EDB to identify job seekers beyond those impacted by this closure.
A special thanks to Renee Pierce from the Employment Training Panel for being a part of our meeting, and for sharing the different workforce development funding programs that are available for local Manufacturers. Click here for a complete program summary or contact Renee to learn more about your eligibility for these funds.
We look forward to re-connecting in April as we welcome the County’s Energy and Sustainability Division to our meeting, where we will learn about the different county resources available to help Sonoma County businesses evaluate their current practices and implement initiatives to save energy, water and be more sustainable.
Stay safe and healthy and please don’t hesitate to reach out to the EDB if there’s any support we can provide for your business.
